Sometimes the most thoughtful recommendation after an early orthodontic evaluation is simply: “Everything looks appropriate for this stage. Let’s keep watching.”
That is good news.
It means you were proactive, established a baseline for your child’s development, and now have a plan for what to monitor as your child grows.
If we don’t see a problem that would benefit from immediate intervention, we can follow the eruption of the permanent teeth, bite development and jaw growth over time.
Observation isn’t “doing nothing.” It is an intentional plan that allows us to choose treatment timing based on your child’s development rather than simply starting orthodontics as early as possible.
Every child’s development is different. If something here sounds familiar, the next step isn’t braces. It’s a conversation with Dr. Sharp.
