Meet Dr. Irina Sharp
Board-certified orthodontist and founder of Sharp Smiles Orthodontics in Broomfield, Colorado.
Dr. Irina Sharp is a board-certified orthodontist and the founder of Sharp Smiles Orthodontics in Broomfield, Colorado. She provides personalized orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults, combining advanced specialty training, modern technology, and an evidence-based approach.
Her approach goes beyond simply straightening teeth. Dr. Sharp carefully evaluates each patient’s bite, facial growth and development, oral health, and individual stage of growth. She also considers airway-related concerns when relevant and values collaboration with dentists, pediatricians, ENTs, sleep specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
As a mother of three, Dr. Sharp understands how important it is for parents to feel confident about healthcare decisions for their children. She takes time to explain what she sees, whether treatment is needed, and when treatment would be most beneficial. Her goal is to help every family make informed decisions without pressure or uncertainty.
Training and credentials
Dr. Sharp earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude and receiving the Dean’s Award for Top Academic Performance. She then completed a two and a half-year orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus, earning both a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Sharp is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and has been board-certified since 2020. She is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and has completed additional advanced education through the Aligner Intensive Fellowship. She has achieved Invisalign Gold Provider status and brings more than nine years of combined orthodontic education and clinical experience to her patients.
Her commitment to evidence-based care extends to orthodontic research. Dr. Sharp’s research evaluating the accuracy of digitally simulated orthodontic tooth movement compared with actual treatment outcomes was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Sharp has experience treating a wide range of orthodontic needs, including early interceptive treatment, comprehensive treatment for adolescents and adults, clear aligner therapy, complex bite correction, MARPE, and orthodontic care coordinated with jaw surgery. She uses digital scanning, three-dimensional imaging, and customized treatment planning to provide precise and efficient care.

Away from the office
Outside the office, Dr. Sharp is a mom of three (Max, Sophia, and Liam) and loves spending time with her family. A Colorado lifestyle is a natural fit for her. She enjoys skiing in the winter, hiking and camping when the weather is warm, and making the most of time outdoors with her kids.
Dr. Sharp founded Sharp Smiles Orthodontics to create the kind of practice she personally wanted for her patients: independent, relationship-driven, and centered around individualized care. Sharp Smiles is a privately owned, one-doctor orthodontic practice, which means patients can expect to see Dr. Sharp throughout their treatment and know exactly who is overseeing their care.
For Dr. Sharp, opening Sharp Smiles Orthodontics in Broomfield is about more than creating beautiful smiles. It is about becoming part of the community, getting to know the families she treats, and building a practice where patients feel genuinely known and cared for.
